Rosa Guerrero
Born in Madrid, Rosa studied Art and Decoration in IADE, which makes contact with the world of painting and visual arts. She recieved a Classical academic training and from the beginning became interested in abstraction. She attends Workshops of Contemporary Art with Alfonso Fraile and Pablo Palazuelo in the Circle of Fine Arts in Madrid. The reading of Juan Rulfo, full of sensory images, started a path related to the world of human feelings. Apart from Juan Rulfo for many years her work has been associated with poetry and philosophy being influenced by authors like Garcia Lorca, Alberti, Cernuda, Neruda, Paul Valery, Benedetti, JV Foix, Paul Celan, Alfonso Vallejo ... . As a logical evolution she came to the world of haiku and oriental poetry, which also marks a stage in her evolutionary process. The philosophy and theosophy have been important pillars in her work in recent years, as well as awareness of the historical influence of our present. Spain has been essentially multicultural since its inception, enriched with all the Mediterranean civilizations from prehistoric times, so we need only look around us to bathe in the common roots with the Mediterranean. In this sense, for some time she studied the influence of Arab culture in our Art, and started a series of Arab graphics bringing to them her personal stamp. This gesture ends in her series "fragmentos" on the grounds that life is a fragmented perception of reality. In the serie "Olvido", exhibited at the Serrano Palace (Ávila) philosophy takes on a greater role in that work, based on classical Greek and Buddhist theories. Today it is Sufism which brands the development in her work, which will be exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tangier (Morocco) from 5 to May 28, 2012.
